Elsa's Procession
"Bridal Procession in a Spring Landscape" by Adrian Ludwig Richter (1847)
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, and personally played, is
Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral
(from Lohengrin) by Richard Wagner. I was fortunate enough to perform this piece as part of the 1996 State Iowa Bandmasters' Association Band. Even though it sounds slow and simple, I remember the lyricism actually being quite difficult. Simply breathtaking.
